James co-founded Aravis Capital in 2010 and became Chief Executive of Aravis Capital in 2023. Before co-founding Aravis, James spent seven years as the Marketing Director at Atlantis Investment Management. James has over 30 years’ experience specialising in financial product sales in institutional equities and investment management based mostly in the UK but has also lived and worked in Thailand and Hong Kong. Previous employers include W.I. Carr (Overseas) Limited, BZW and Nomura.
James is a co-founder and Chairman at Aravis Capital, which includes the roles of Compliance and Finance Officer. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the firm.
James worked in Asian financial markets for 15 years in investment banking and stockbroking in several sales and leadership roles before moving to the hedge fund sector for 10 years, first managing a fund of hedge funds at ABN AMRO Asset Management, and then at Asset Alliance International, a US firm, identifying and providing acceleration capital for early stage hedge funds.
James graduated from the University of Oxford with a joint BA (Hons) degree in Modern Languages and Modern History.
Kit is Managing Director - Head of Sales managing the Aravis sales team and overseeing the sales and distribution of the firm’s clients’ funds.
He is responsible for developing new investor relationships throughout Europe, with a personal focus on Switzerland and the UK, where he is responsible for maintaining investor relationships with some of the largest institutions. Kit is dedicated to uncovering new opportunities for fund sales across Europe and mapping the fund marketplace.
Before joining Aravis Kit spent six years in the British Army, serving with the Grenadier Guards after graduating from the University of Exeter with a BA (Hons) degree in Ancient History.
Rubeena is a Director at Aravis Capital and is responsible for covering investor relationships in France and Benelux. Before joining Aravis, Rubeena was responsible for fund sales to institutional clients in Europe for Mitsubishi UFJ Asset Management Ltd. Rubeena has 18 years’ experience in business development and sales in asset management based in London & Dubai. Previous employers also include M&G Investments and Pioneer Investments covering European and Middle Eastern clients. Additionally, she has worked for Fischer Francis Trees & Watts (part of BNP Paribas Asset Management) and Savills Investment Management in client relationship management.
Rubeena holds a Masters’ degree in Banking, Finance and Insurance from Sorbonne University, Paris.
Hugo is an Director at Aravis Capital responsible for covering clients across the Nordics, with additional responsibilities across the UK and Ireland. Previously, Hugo worked at GLG (Gerson Lehrman Group) where he assisted Emerging Market and Small/Mid Cap Fund Managers with their primary research.
Hugo graduated from Exeter University with a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations.
James is an Associate Director within the distribution team, where he is responsible for managing and developing client relationships across the Nordics and the UK.
He is involved in capital raising initiatives to support the firm’s growth across key European markets. Prior to joining Aravis, James was an environmental commodity sales trader, where he built a strong track record in financial product sales and client coverage over a five-year period.
James holds a BA in French and Spanish from the University of Leeds and is a holder of the CISI Level 3 Certificate in Capital Markets.
Max Helston joined Aravis Capital to support the firm’s sales, marketing and technology efforts. He holds a BSc in Economics with Econometrics from the University of Bristol, where he was awarded the Dean’s Award.
Before joining Aravis, he worked at a seed-stage startup using AI to help decarbonise the energy grid by optimising behind the meter assets. He also previously interned at a London-based multi-family office, gaining exposure to investment research and client operations.

Arlette is the Director of Marketing and oversees all aspects of marketing, including brand identity, creative development, digital media, and marketing communications. Before joining Aravis, Arlette spent 10 years in client services for Cantillon Capital Management and Lazard Asset Management.
Arlette is two time nominee for the Marketing Leader of the Year in the Investment Week Marketing & Innovation Awards 2022, 2023.
Arlette graduated from Nottingham Trent University with a BA (Hons) European Business & German.
Liam is the Senior Manager of Operations and Finance at Aravis Capital responsible for Fund Accounting, management of the Aravis proprietary Commission system monitoring investors’ inflows and outflows in client funds, Assistance with general management of Aravis Funds (Ireland) ICAV and documentation of reporting requirements. Prior to joining Aravis, Liam worked for KPMG in Audit where he assisted both Public and Private sector engagements as well as completing short term placements in Counter Fraud and Corporate Tax.
Liam is AAT qualified with completion of the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting and Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting through BPP University.
Sophia is the Operations Director at Aravis Capital, and is a Director on the Board of Aravis Funds Ireland ICAV. She works on management processes and control, incorporating compliance, documentation and reporting requirements. Before joining Aravis, Sophia spent nine years at Goldman Sachs; in London in Equities Management, Wealth Management, and Operations, before moving to Paris to work in Equities Management.
Sophia graduated from the University of Sussex with a BSc (Hons) in Experimental Psychology.
Becki is the Office Manager at Aravis Capital. Before joining Aravis, Becki had 14 years’ experience as a personal assistant to senior executives principally in the broadcasting and publishing worlds, including the BBC & ITEL.
Becki graduated from the University of Bournemouth BA (Hons) in Media Production.
